I had no expectations regarding author Naigle or her style, but because I needed something to read on layovers in the airport I chose this book and her "Sweet Tea and Secrets" to get me through the wait. I'm glad I did. This book followed the adventures of Sweet Tea but I read them in reverse order not knowing that to be the case. It didn't ruin the stories for me, so they stood on their own nicely. The main characters, Carolanne and Connor, were likeable and I found it easy to root for them becoming a permanent couple. The drama Carolanne displayed towards dad was a little off kilter and a bit unbeliveable, and no where in the universe can I believe there could have been a "Pearl" with her folksy predictions, but I have to admit it did add to the story and made my layover less tedious.

I love visiting Adam's Grove, especially during a wedding~the action turns up when a dead body is found and now a mystery needs to be solved. I love the web of Carolanne's emotions played out on the page and how she came to realize what is important in her life.

Each book in this series always leaves me with a tear running down my face and a smile on my lips. Definitely 5 STARS!!!
A delightful story full of quirky characters, friendships, some baggage along the way, a bit of mystery, and love. A fun read.
I loved the stores about this small town in Virginia. Each of the 6 stoies were a stand alone book but more fun to follow along with the town folk. The relationships were what I would call clean sex. Just enough to get the idea without too much detail.

How distracted did I get?
Wedding Cake and Big Mistakes is a fun feel good romantic suspense! Yep all those rolled into one! Carolanne is one determined lawyer who doesn't believe in love or marriage. She's a supportive friend who fights back from her past. Connor is a new book boyfriend we can take home to mom! He wants Carolanne as more than his friend now. The story had me rooting for the hope to be couple and for Carolanne to reconcile with her dad. Wedding Cake and Big Mistakes is a must read for all! You can't beat a book with humor, mystery, romance and much more!
The stories themselves were good. The big issue I had with the series though was that there was no continuity! Events that happened in one book seemed to have disappeared from the next book. Friendships that were nonexistent in one book suddenly became best friends in the next book. Relationships on the verge of marriage that were the cumulation of the whole book suddenly became 'no spark'. Guys who are sweet and very gentlemanly in one book are complete jerks in the next. I wish the stories had been written as individual stories or more care had been taken to make sure that all of the stories flowed together because the discontinuity of the stories almost made me want to quit reading and brought down my overall opinion of the series.
I picked up Wedding Cake and Big Mistakes at the same time I picked up Sweet Tea and Secrets. I have to say I loved every minute of Carolanne and Connor's story. Having a sweet romance connected to a murder mystery is a good thing. I love a good mystery and I appreciate the fact that the story isn't mostly about sex. I love that characters from the previous books are included in this book. I have become a big fan of the Adams Grove series.

This one has all the things you could want in a book, well developed characters, heartache, love, friendship, loyalty, betrayal, murder, suspense and a great ending.

I will be recommending this one to my family and friends. I can't wait for the next one in the series.
